FIFA 22 Master Switch: Introduce the Competitive Setting

One of the main goals of the developers of FIFA 22 has focused on fair play by eliminating potentially frustrating situations.

EA Sports is continuing to gather feedback from pro players, community members and seasoned FIFA players to increase balance in certain situations. Of all the requests received through feedback, the most recurrent was to have more control of game situations and find more realism in certain situations.

For this reason, the Canadian software house has introduced the Competitive Setting in FIFA 22 which will be mandatory in some game modes.

The active Competitive Master Switch setting will determine the following:

Contextual Agile Dribbling: Off

Auto Clearances: Off

Auto Flair Pass: Off

Auto Shots: Off

Assisted Headers: Off

Jockey: Manual

Through Pass Assistance: Semi

In online friendlies, Competitive Settings are enabled by default but can be disabled. On the Controller Settings screen, players will notice a new Competitive Master Switch option, and once enabled, some settings will be turned off / on and off, preventing players from changing them individually.

Since the birth of FUT, a large number of players have played FUT, and all controller settings have been set to "manual". However, since I can only assume it is a simple oversight, EA will limit the pass-through assistance to "half". This means that we will no longer be able to play FUT in the hardcore full manual mode that we have spent years mastering.
